Hobart Institute of Welding Technology

You complete this application one time in order to be considered for all scholarships listed below.

To be eligible for this scholarships, a candidate must have graduated from high school or will graduate in the near future or obtained a GED.
Required Information:
1. Completed and submitted application.
2. Copy of high school diploma or GED, uploaded. Please note if you have not yet graduated from high school, please provide an up-to-date transcript and a letter from your school stating that you will graduate and when.
3. Copy of complete grade transcript from high school.
4. Three letters of recommendations from teachers, counselors, or supervisors.
5. A statement explaining how and why you selected welding as a career, and what goals you wish to achieve.

Howard B. Cary Scholarship, Raymond C. Dunlavy Scholarship, Robert Bercaw Scholarship

Criteria: Must be within seven years of high school graduation. Scholarship must be used for tuition only and within one year of award date. Scholarship can be applied to either program at HIWT. Any unused amount will be returned to the scholarship fund. (3) Awards: The amount of Structural Program Tuition

Hobart Institute of Welding Technology Scholarship(s)
Criteria: Must be within seven years of high school graduation. Scholarship must be used for tuition only and within one year of award date. Scholarship can be applied to either program at HIWT. Any unused amount will be returned to the scholarship fund. (8) Awards: $5,000 each

Hobart Brothers Co. Scholarships
Criteria: Eligible to graduating high school seniors. Priority given first to children or grandchildren of employees of ITW related Welding Companies then to Miami County High School or Upper Valley Career Center graduates, then to graduates of surrounding county schools, then to all other scholarship applicants. Scholarships must be used for tuition only. Any unused amount will be returned to the Hobart Brothers Co. Scholarship fund. (5) Awards: $2,000 each

Robb Fitch Howell II Scholarship
Criteria: Open to any U.S. Citizen. Must be within seven years of your high school graduation. Scholarship must be used for tuition only. Any unused amount will be returned to the Robb Fitch Howell II Scholarship Fund. (1) Award: $1,900

David and Madonna Via Memorial
Criteria: Graduate of Miami, Darke, Shelby, Preble, Montgomery, Greene, Clark, Champaign, Logan, Auglaize or Mercer County, Ohio high schools. Scholarships must be used for tuition only. Any unused amount will be returned to the David and Madonna Via Memorial Scholarship Fund. (1) Award: $1,000

Peter C. Hobart Scholarships
Criteria: Two scholarship each year one to an international student and one to a welded metal sculptor. If there should not be a qualified applicant for one of the two purposes stated, then the entire available amount may be used to fund multiple scholarships in one of the defined areas. If there are no qualified applicants for either of the two purposes then the scholarships will be offered to the pool of applicants who apply for all other scholarships to HIWT offered through the Troy Foundation. Scholarships must be used for tuition only. Any unused amount will be returned to the Peter C. Hobart Scholarship Fund. (2) Awards: $1,500 each

William B. and Marcia H. Howell Scholarship
Criteria: Open to any U.S. citizen. Must be within seven years of high school graduation. Scholarship must be used for tuition only. Any unused portion must be returned to the William B. and Marcia H. Howell Scholarship Fund for use by future recipients. (1) Award: $750

HIWT Alumni Scholarship
Criteria: Open to anyone who applies. Scholarship must be used for tuition only. Any unused amount will be returned to the HIWT Alumni Scholarship Fund. (1) Award: $500

Pat Kennedy Scholarship
Criteria: Open to any applicant from the Indianapolis, IN region who intends to locate to the Indianapolis, IN region after graduation to pursue employment in the welding field. Scholarship must be used for tuition only and must be used within one year of award date. Any unused portion must be returned to the Pat Kennedy Scholarship Fund. (1) Award $500
